Buying a new compund bow?

I am in the market for a new compound bow, and being that there are so many options these days, I need some advice. I am willing to spend up to $500, preferably contingent upon a ready-to-shoot package. I was looking at the PSE Brute, as well as some other brands. I do not have any specific needs, but I will be using the bow for hunting as well as target practice. Size doesn't really matter either. Thanks for the help.
